Taller: Bibliotecas, Wikipedia y Creative Commons

On Saturday September 1, Wikimedia Argentina, the local chapter of the Wikimedia Foundation, and Creative Commons Argentina, will be helding the workshop “GLAM, Wikimedia and Creative Commons” in its headquarters in Ayacucho 132, starting at 10.30.

The goal of this workshop is to present how they cultural institutions (galleries, libraries, museums and archives, also known by the acronym GLAM) can enhance with Wikimedia and Creative Commons.

The workshop will combine works sessions, keynote lectures and exchange of experiences.

The keynote lectures will be Claudio Ruiz, co-director of Creative Commons for Latin America, who will talk about how Creative Commons licenses and cultural institutions can be enhanced through Wikimedia projects – like Wikipedia – and Roxana Donoso, head of Information Arquitecture Department at the Library of Congress of Chile, who will present the successful experience that the LOC Chile had with the “wiki world” in recent years. The meeting will be held from 10:30 am on 1 September at the headquarters of Wikimedia Argentina, located in Ayacucho 132, City of Buenos Aires.
